What decides the price of a fibreglass pool?
Mostly the site, the fence and the surrounds, not the shell. CheckMyBuilder prices site access and ground conditions at $10,000 to $50,000, barrier fencing at $5,000 to $25,000 with its own building consent, and its figures exclude GST while Ultimate Pools' retail prices include it — fifteen per cent on $75,000 is $11,250.
A fibreglass shell is made in a factory and delivered whole, which is why CheckMyBuilder describes a fibreglass installation in weeks where sprayed concrete is built in place over months.
CheckMyBuilder prices site access and ground conditions at $10,000 to $50,000 on top, and lists crane hire and difficult-access charges as usually extra. A shell that has to come over a house is at the top of that.
