Pools by region
What is genuinely local about a pool is the council: its inspection fee, how it runs its 3-yearly checks, and what it publishes about barriers. There are 67 territorial authorities in New Zealand and two region pages here, because two are the ones whose current fee schedules we have read in full.
Auckland
Auckland Council
- Swimming or spa pool inspection (each): $209
- Extra charge for a failed inspection, or no access to the pool area: $209
Bay of Plenty
Tauranga City Council
- First pool compliance inspection: Included in property rates as a targeted rate.
- Each additional pool compliance inspection: $204
Regions we have not published
- Wellington. Wellington City Council's pool pages have moved and we could not read a current inspection fee. Ask the council directly before you budget for one.
- Canterbury. Christchurch City Council's pool pages return an error to us. We will not publish a fee we have not read.
We would rather have two honest region pages than twelve with invented fees on them.
